Reifel Rye

Reifel rye, named in honour of George H. Reifel, Alberta Distillers’ original Master Distiller, 75 years ago, is a carefully crafted concoction made with more than 90 per cent rye grains blended with water from Rocky Mountain glaciers. This runner-up, from the award-winning distillery, certainly stands on its own. Reifel rye is aged in new, charred, white oak and ex-bourbon barrels (ex-bourbon barrels are a signature of Alberta Distiller’s process) to produce notes of toffee, banana bread, chocolate, poached pear and crème brûlée. The profile is best described as a deep, full-flavoured whisky that is rich and aromatic with the right amount of complexity and spice.
